This morning, something unexpected happened. A friend helped me do squats with a barbell—something I hadn’t tried in a long while because of a bad knee. To my surprise, I could squat low, pain-free! It was such a small thing, but for me, it was a huge win.
It got me thinking about how we often overlook small victories on the yoga mat. Maybe it’s the first time you balance a little longer in Tree Pose. Or notice your breath flowing more evenly in Downward Dog. Or “simply” get back on the mat after time away (not easy).
My yoga mentor advises, “building measurable moments of success” into yoga classes. Small wins build confidence and motivation. Celebrating them reminds us that progress isn’t always about giant leaps. Consistent, small steps add up to meaningful growth.
These moments matter. They’re the building blocks of bigger transformations, both in yoga and life.
Today, I invite you to pause and celebrate a small win—on or off the mat. Each step forward, no matter how tiny, is worth honoring.
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”
~ Vincent Van Gogh
And if you’d like to keep stacking those wins, join me for Gentle Beginnings: 10 Minutes of Yoga a Day, starting December 1st. This 2-week challenge is all about creating small, consistent habits that lead to big changes.
Let’s move, grow, and celebrate together.
