Getting Back on the Mat: A Simple Way to Reignite Your Yoga Practice

Have you ever stepped away from something you love and then felt intimidated to return? I know I have.

Recently, I’ve been struggling to get back into my karate practice. The injury that kept me away still exists, but it’s much better now. Yet I’m still feeling hesitant. It’s not the physical challenge that holds me back but something deeper—feeling a bit lost, maybe even worried about not being as good as I once was. Or not fitting in.

Can you relate? Perhaps you’ve felt the same resistance when thinking about getting back into your yoga practice. We can be our own toughest critics, and the idea of not measuring up to our past selves can be daunting.

But here’s the thing: The key is to start small. Start where you are and don’t overthink it. Even just 10 minutes a day can make a world of difference. Yoga isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up, moving with your breath, and being gentle with yourself.

I’m thinking about starting a yoga challenge in December.

I’d love to create a simple, supportive two-week challenge: just 10 minutes of yoga a day. It’ll be about easing back into your practice, finding joy in small, consistent efforts, and feeling good in your body. (100% free and open to all levels)
